Basic Techniques

Basic techniques constitute the basics of the Taekwon-do discipline. When someone starts learning Taekwon-do, they dedicate their time almost entirely to these. During this they should learn the elementary movements, achieve a basic coordination of motion. The mastering of the essential skills for martial arts begins with practicing the basic movement. Later trainings will consist of more and more from the other parts of Taekwon-do (patterns, formal sparring, free sparring, etc). In basic techniques all elements of Taekwon-do movements can be learnt in their simplest forms. Although students at first do not really like basic techniques, they could consider practicing the same movements boring, it is vital for later training in sparring and even power-breaking. The instructor's responsibility is greatest in teaching these basic techniques, the misinterpreted movements at an early stage can not be corrected easily.
